Do you find yourself feeling anxious and uncertain a lot of the time? If so, you’re not alone. Uncertainty is a part of life, and it’s something that we all have to learn to live with. This article will discuss seven strategies to help you cope with uncertainty and live a happier life.
So, what can you do to deal with uncertainty? Here are a few suggestions:

1. Try not to resist it.
When we fight against something, we only end up making ourselves more stressed. Instead of resisting uncertainty, try to accept it as a natural part of life. There’s no doubt: We are living through challenging times. The COVID-19 pandemic has upended our lives in countless ways, large and small. Many of us are struggling to cope with the resulting uncertainty.
Just because we accept a situation doesn’t mean that it can’t or won’t get better. We don’t have to agree with the idea that things will always stay the same; we only need to acknowledge what is happening at this moment.
2. Invest in yourself.
One of the best ways to deal with uncertainty is to focus on taking care of yourself. Make sure you get enough sleep, eat healthily, and exercise regularly. When you feel good physically, dealing with whatever life throws your way is more accessible. Self-care is not selfish. It’s essential.
3. Find healthy ways to comfort yourself.
We all need a little comfort sometimes, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Just be sure to find healthy ways to do it. Our brains usually push us into unhealthy ways to soothe ourselves: stress eating, buying stuff, smoking, etc. But we should avoid it. It only makes the problem worse in the long run. Instead of comfort food, try going for a walk outside or calling a friend. Find the thing that brings you the most joy.
4. Don’t believe everything you think.
Our thoughts can be compelling, but we don’t have to believe everything they tell us. If you’re stressed, take a step back and question your thoughts. Are they true? Instead of allowing ourselves to be overwhelmed by opposing ideas, we may purposefully create the best possible scenario in our minds. It is referred to as “optimistic visualization.” It can help to increase feelings of optimism and peace. Your brain pushes you into negativity, but if you calm down and start reasoning, you will understand that there may not be a problem.
5. Pay attention.
Feeling anxious makes it easy to zone out and focus on our thoughts. Instead, try to pay attention to the present moment. Notice the sights and sounds around you, and take some deep breaths. We may use our breathing to relax rather than envision an unpleasant and unknown future. We can still influence what we pay attention to even when everything appears beyond our control.

6. Stop looking for someone to rescue you.
We must rely on ourselves rather than wait for someone else to fix our problems. We all can overcome challenges; we need to believe in ourselves.
My mother was an incredibly compassionate and involved woman who truly cared about others. I’ve always been a good person, but people may have expected me too much (or had unrealistic expectations). Whether we are talking about the death of a loved one or criminals’ terrorization of our neighborhoods, most human beings want to feel valued. This desire is largely positive; it increases when people care for you and appreciate what you do! No matter how genuine your intentions may appear, at first sight, it is imported essential honest with yourself about your capacity to handle another person’s emotional needs before making any promises.
7. Find meaning in the chaos.
When things are tough, it can be helpful to remember that there is often beauty in the chaos. Try to find the silver lining in every situation, and you’ll be surprised at how much better you feel. As human beings, our most powerful driving force is the significance we have for other people. When we know someone else is benefiting from our efforts, we’ll work harder, longer, and better—and like what we do more. Once we identify an issue that requires improvement, it’s time to consider what we can do to help resolve the matter. What talents or interests could we utilize? And more importantly, what is important to us, and how can we use our skillset for good?
