3 Ways To Know If You’re With The Right Person At The Wrong Time

Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s just not the right time for a relationship to start. Maybe the person is great, but there are too many practical obstacles. Or you know it would only work out short-term because of your different values.

If you need clarification on whether it’s the right person at the wrong time, here are three ways to tell!

1. You do not believe that this is a long-term relationship

It could be a great person with the wrong values for you, so time has nothing to do with it. It’s not that there isn’t any chemistry or you don’t have strong feelings for one another. The issue is that you have opposite perspectives on how you think, live, or believe.

In other words, if you agree to meet again in three or five years, will your long-term goals or aspirations have changed so much that the relationship is worth pursuing?

If there are no changes, there is no point in continuing these relations.

2. Second, another relationship may make it impossible.

If one or both of you are already attached to someone else, it won’t lead to happily ever after. This is a sign that it is not meant to be, and it’s probably better to let the relationship go.

After all these years of searching, are you optimistic that this is the person you’ve been looking for? Or do they seem better because they’re new and different?

All too often in long-term relationships or marriages, the routine and boredom set in, causing people to feel restless and start looking for something new and exciting.

Instead of looking for greener pastures, invest your attention in your partner and acknowledge the value of the years you have committed to each other.

3. Finally, the practicalities may make a relationship impossible.

If you live miles away from each other or have essential commitments preventing you from relocating, there may be better timing. You may live too far away to reasonably consider moving, or the age difference is impossible to feel like you could have a ‘normal’ relationship.

The intense individualized connection you feel might be related to your spiritual devotion and understanding that the relationship would never work out because of your differing religious ideologies. Honestly? It’s nonsense.

If your love for someone is deep and genuine, you can overcome any obstacle to be together.

If you want to move states, convert religions, or seek out the support of your friends and family, then practicality shouldn’t be a deciding factor for you.
If you’ve met the right person, but it’s not the right time, then that connection might be more robust than you believe.

So if it is the right person but the wrong time, consider these three points before you decide what to do. With a clear understanding of the situation, you can make a decision that works best for both parties involved.
